What's Happening

Christmas Market
After the Christmas market of 2023, another was held on December 8th 2024. Unfortunately the weather of the previous year didn't prevail and the market had a reduced number of stalls which battled very windy conditions for most of the day. Renee and Halley Bryant should be commended for their organisation of this event and they say they are not defeated and are prepared for the next one in 2025.

Christmas Carols
The annual Christmas carols were held on December 15th 2024. A large crowd
attended, and were treated to a varied programme. The mayor of Southern Midlands Edwin Batt once again took on the role of MC whilst Christian McCallum from Hobart worked his magic at the organ. For the first time , a small choir from the Kempton Primary School performed and hopefully under the guidance of music teacher Matthew Ives, they will be back for a return performance in 2025.

Perfect day for a Wedding
On Saturday January 11th 2025, Rebecca Jones and Andrew Gough chose St Mary's church for their wedding. Rebecca grew up in Kempton and chose the church for the venue as her father Neville is buried in the cemetery. The weather was perfect on the day, and the church gave some respite from the heat. The couple and their large gathering of friends and family, continued to celebrate in Bothwell where the couple have made
their home.

Kempton Festival
St Mary's had a BBQ and stall at the Kempton Festival in February 2025.
Committee members Catherine Johnson and Penny Cromarty plus many volunteers from the Bryant Family had a very successful day.
The BBQ raised $1,100.00 and the Festival stall raised $340.00.
This money will be used for restoration work inside the church.
Congratulations to everyone who helped on the day.
